Hey there,
We’re Anni & Hoss, the footprints behind our travel blog Two Footprints Abroad. 👣
Anni is from Germany and Hoss from Egypt. And yes, the internet made it all happen. 🌍

How we met
We met online in 2012 (nope – not on Tinder, more something like Instagram but much smaller) and spent months messaging, dreaming, and wondering if the spark on screen would jump over to real life.
Everyone around us thought we were nuts – and to be fair, they had a point. But we just had to find out if the connection was real. So, we jumped right in (with a fair amount of nervous energy) – by booking a round trip through Turkey before ever meeting in person.
Totally reasonable, right?
That trip changed everything. We clicked. It was real. We kept going.
Meaning:
2 years of long-distance relationship, some trips in Egypt and yet another one to turkey 😉.
It was a hard time but so worth it!
2015
We move fast forward to 2015: We decided to live in Germany and shortly after we got married in Denmark!
We said “I do” on a tiny island called Ærø – also known as Denmark’s wedding island.
Just us, some wind, and our future ahead of us.
Fun fact: did you know that denmark is the “Little Las Vegas of Europe” when it comes to international marriages?
Really it’s SO much more easy – you can literally get married there within a week and with very little paperwork!
(10/10, would recommend) 😉

Then – Now
Since then, we’ve been living in Germany, working full-time 9-5 office jobs by day, planning our adventures by night and chasing the world whenever we can – weekends, holidays, random Tuesdays.
Our camera roll is full, our Google Maps lists are overflowing, and our suitcase-packing skills are… still a work in progress.
We’ve now visited over a dozen countries, with countless weekend escapes to the Netherlands, and we return to Egypt every year – to visit family and friends, explore new places, and soak up the Red Sea sun in Hurghada (our happy place).
Anni is mildly obsessed with the pyramids and insists on seeing them every time (which does not always work) – no matter how often Hoss reminds her that, to Egyptians, they’re not really worth the hype.
Let’s agree to disagree.

Our travel style?
Do everything!
Let’s just say we don’t want to slow down. We squeeze in as many experiences as we can – hiking, street food, beaches, snorkeling, boat rides, ancient ruins, rooftop views, markets, beautiful landscapes… you name it.
We pack our itineraries like Anni packs her bags: to the max!
Speaking of which:
🎒 Anni’s suitcase is always one sock away from exploding.
🧳 Hoss somehow still has room. Every. Time. No one knows how. (Maybe cause he knows Anni will need it for souvenirs, and ceramics, and random cute mugs – it must be love)
🧲 We also keep one simple tradition: collect a fridge magnet from every place we go! Ok… usually more than one… let’s be honest: it’s minimum 5.
It started as a fun souvenir. It’s now an out-of-control addiction. Our fridge a slightly chaotic museum of everywhere we’ve been – like a map of our memories – and we absolutely LOVE it!
🗺️ Anni plans everything digital by very organized Google Maps list & Pinterest boards with all our bucket list must- see places.
✍️ Hoss plans very detailed and writes everything down– yes, with actual pen and paper
If we combine both we find the best spots and activities that both of us will enjoy (mostly).
📸 Anni likes to take photos and edit them 🎥 Hoss takes video and turns them into small travel movies.
A content creator match made in heaven. 🤩😂
This or That?
In this fun section, we share our personal preferences, from coffee over tea to sunsets over sunrises. It’s a lighthearted way for you to get to know us better through our favorite things!

We always enjoyed to document our travels from the very beginning and creating a travel blog to inspire others was something we dreamed about a lot.
Now Two Footprints Abroad is our corner of the internet to share our real travel moments – the good, the messy, the funny.
We’re not full-time travelers, but we’ve mastered the art of making the most out of every weekend, public holiday, and leftover vacation day.
Just two people who think every good trip deserves to be remembered – and passed on.
